The School for Liberal Arts, Science, & Technology provides the cultural foundation that is essential for a well-rounded education, the scientific education that will aid students in preparing for an increasingly technologically complex world, and the specific training in a variety of technologies to support students in what ever "world of work" choice they make.
Liberal Arts is:
- A school that prepares college bound students for the general education prerequisites requiredby most advanced education institutions.
- A school that prepares all students with an educational foundation so that they can be prepared for life in the world of work and the advanced training it requires.
- A school that recognizes that all students may not have made their career choice and thus provides them a variety of educational opportunities designed to aid them in their preparation for a making a career choice.
The Academy of Liberal Arts, Science, & Technology will:
- be academically oriented
- provide a well-rounded, balanced education
- develop a greater sense of school identity and loyalty
- expose students to a Socratic atmosphere of discovery and inquiry
- help students develop mastery of communications and higher level thinking skills
- foster the growth of responsible decision-making
- encourage ethics
Students will:
- be exposed to art, literature, music, history, philosophy, and social sciences
- have experiences in math, sciences, languages, governmental and economic systems
- have the opportunity to achieve California University admission requirements
- master reading and communications skills
We believe that no one area should be sacrificed to another, and that the key to understanding all these subjects is fluent abilities in reading and communication both spoken and written. |
